As 2014 comes to a close, Rotorua mayor Steve Chadwick passes judgement on her job.

"I'm loving it," she tells The Mud's Kevin O'Connor as we sat down with her to discuss the year.

The interview came the day after the mayor led the Rotorua District Council through a vote for an historica partnership proposal with Te Arawa.

Rather than being daunted, Mayor Chadwick was upbeat.

"I’m loving it because you can get things done. And I didn’t come in to muck around. I saw the clear mandate for change and a new direction needed, and a plan.  And I was proud councillors agreed a plan."
