The Mud Review of Picnic Cafe

Note: The Mud cafe reviews are undertaken on a 'mystery shopper' basis, and followed up by a one-on-one video interview with the owner.

Picnic café had an extremely busy morning when we arrived for Sunday brunch, but the welcome was warm and authentic.

It’s a small café with indoor and outdoor seating and a comfortable relaxed feel. A series of paintings lend a creative ambience.

We chose an omelette (ham and cheese) and the Caesar salad, with fresh orange juice and coffees to follow.

Simple, tasty food, made with fresh, quality ingredients served promptly and with a smile.

The omelette was delicious and filling, and the salad could hold its own anywhere.

Cappuchino and a long black to follow; then on with what was left of the weekend.

Plenty of options are available for the vegetarian and those wanting gluten free options, and an impressive range of cakes and biscuits, all made on the premises.  There’s plenty to try on the menu and you can see why this is carving a niche in the local eateries market for consistently good food.

Total price for brunch for two: $45.00
